Dave Coulier gives candid cancer update: ‘In fight or flight mode’

Full house Star Dave Coulier has shared a candid update on his ongoing cancer treatment.

“A side effect is a side effect,” Coulier, 65, said in the latest episode of the “Full House Rewind” podcast, released Friday, Jan. 10. So, in this constant cocktail, your body is in fight or flight mode and you’re just trying to adapt, ‘Okay, how do I adapt to steroids? How do I adapt to the chemotherapy cocktail?

Coulier went on to say that his body is in “a constant battle.”

“It’s kind of an internal battle,” he continued.

In November 2024, the actor revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. during an interview peopleCoulier explained that he first received the diagnosis in October of that year, when he experienced an upper respiratory tract infection that caused severe swelling of his lymph nodes.

“My doctors called me back three days later and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is called B-cell lymphoma and is very aggressive. ,’ Coulier told the outlet at the time. “I went from ‘I have a little cold’ to ‘I have cancer,’ and it was overwhelming. After publicly revealing his diagnosis, Coulier explained that he and his wife Melissa Breen He relied on the advice of friends who worked in the medical field and developed “a very specific plan to treat” his aggressive cancer.

“It was really a conscious decision that I was going to meet this number one guy and I wanted people to know that this is my life,” Coulier explained his diagnosis during a November 2024 podcast. “I’m not trying to hide anything. I’d rather talk about it and have a discussion and inspire people.

During Friday’s episode of the podcast, Coulier revealed that since sharing his diagnosis, he’s “heard from a lot of people whose lives have been affected by cancer.”

“I think words of encouragement really help people,” he shared. “So, to me, it’s all worth it. Just being able to remind people that they can get a colonoscopy or early screening or a mammogram, it’s really worth it.
