Dangerous floods were encountered in the southeast, while snowstorms were conducted in the northeast brackets
The southeastern United States faced heavy rain and dangerous flooding on Saturday, with much of the eastern region hitting new harsh and wet weather.
According to WKYT-TV, a man was found dead in a flood in Clay County, Kentucky.
Cars and buildings in Kentucky were submerged in water, and mudslides blocked Virginia roads. Both states, as well as Tennessee and Arkansas, were flood warnings.
The Northeast is also expected to receive a blizzard over the weekend, with the Mississippi Valley facing a tornado threat.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey issued a state of emergency Saturday in 10 southern counties to deal with heavy rain and flooding.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear preemptively declared a state of emergency as his state is expected to experience flash floods on Sunday. Flooding has affected certain roads in bowling green, and parts of western Kentucky may face eight inches of rain.
“We want to place assets specifically in places where floods are flooded,” Beshear said on social media.
Beshear later released an update to inform residents, including Jackson County, of flood hazard. He also said state police are undergoing health checks and the shelter is open in Park City, Park County and Jenny Willy State Resort Park in Prestonsburg.
The Kentucky governor said late Saturday that he had filed a request for emergency disaster declaration and federal funding to the White House.
River Medical Center in Jackson, the state said it closed the emergency room and transferred all patients to two other hospitals in the area. The hospital said it will reassess the conditions on Sunday morning to determine when it can be safely reopened. The North Fork of the Kentucky River is expected to be nearly 14 feet in the flood phase on Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

The Simpson County Emergency Management Office, Kentucky, said some rescues were conducted by vehicles that were stalled in the flood. The office urges people to stay at home.
Flash floods are likely to occur in Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio valleys, the Weather Bureau said. Flash flood warnings have been issued in most parts of Tennessee.
The Meteorological Bureau described the predicted rain as “a possible major historic flash flood event.”
In the north, heavy snow in most parts of New England is nearly impossible before transitioning to sleet. Parts of upstate New York and northern New England are expected to take the biggest hit, possibly a foot or more.
The Bureau of Meteorology said it predicts that ice buildup in certain areas is a quarter of an inch, which makes driving conditions dangerous. It also noted that in some areas, heavy ice can cause trees and power outages.
Snow and Arctic temperatures affect blankets in the Midwest and Upper Plains, eastern Nebraska, northern Iowa and most of Wisconsin. On Sunday night, winter weather consultations were forecast in most of Iowa, southern Wisconsin and Michigan.

The United States is expected to face its tenth and coldest polar vortex stretching activity this season, with the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains first hitting.
Denver has opened shelters for those living on the streets, as temperatures are expected to drop to 14 degrees over the weekend. It is reported that the hourly snowfall is north of Denver.

The Upper Plains may also feel extremely cold in the next few days, with the cold winds falling from the cold range in western Montana, North Dakota, North Dakota, northern South Dakota and western Minnesota in parts of western Montana, the cold winds range from reduced Go to 30 degrees to as low as 60.
