Dalton, Illinois is under government investigation for suspected mismanagement

A federal summons have been issued for records from others who call themselves “super mayor” Tiffany Henyard and others as authorities conducted criminal investigations related to the expelled mayor.
The subpoena was signed on February 25, and Democrat Henyard lost the mayor by a landslide in Dolton, Illinois. The subpoena reportedly is related to a development project involving a land owned by Henyard’s boyfriend.
The subpoena requires copies of many documents from 2014 to the present, including citations, violations, emails, phone calls and text messages between property owners, tenants and rural personnel. It also requires letters between the property owner, the tenant and the Daltonian village. The staff included Henniard’s boyfriend Kamal Woods.
The subpoena was the latest development of Henyard’s activities when she was the mayor of the village and township supervisor.

The Chicago suburbs face a series of subpoenas during the turbulent mayor of Henyard.
A subpoena in April called for personnel and disciplinary action for nearly 30 people.
Another subpoena asked for all documents related to the indicted village chief Keith Freeman and several companies he was involved in. Federal authorities accused him of making false statements rather than reporting revenue in a bankruptcy petition.
Henyard, who came under fire on February 25 for alleged financial mismanagement, was removed from nearly 88% of the vote in the village chief’s primary election.
Trustee Jason House, once an ally of Henyard, ran to the platform of transparency and promised to restore accountability to the Dalton administration.

“Ms. Henyard not only deprived the public of what they deserved, but also spent country money,” House said on Election Day. “On the first day, every record will be overturned.”

Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, also a Democrat, was hired last year to investigate Henyard’s handling of Dolton’s funds. Henyard’s scandal has been struggling for office including a viral video in January when she was thrown into a brawl at a Thornton Town board meeting after activist Jedidiah Brown had some strong words for Henyard.
“You’re halfway-Mayor. But if you want to get up here and get some respect, you should be able to respond to Lori Lightfoot’s report on credit cards. You want to talk about them not going to work, but we’re always hearing what you’ve been doing when you work,” Brown said in a public comment meeting at the township public notes.
“And I’m going to give the rest of the time because I think on behalf of the Black Cooking Association, we’d better vote… We’re going to exchange your Black A-Let Stephanie be the new member. Everyone loves to say, “Yes.” ””
“You’re leaving, b —-,” Brown concluded.

The room quickly turned into chaos, with the video of the bystander showing wood and brown throwing each other at the back of the room. Others also participated in the fight when security tried to separate the crowd.
