After the Supreme Communist official calls for “unification”, China initiates fire drills
Taiwan sent its navy, army and air force after Taiwan opened a live sports area in a live shooting sports area just 40 nautical miles off the Taiwan coast on Wednesday.

As part of the exercise, Taiwan said it detected 32 Chinese military aircraft conducting joint exercises with warships. So far, Chinese officials have not admitted Taiwan’s complaints.

The exercises around Taiwan are just the latest example of China’s aggressiveness this month. The country’s military has also launched real-time exercises along the coast of Vietnam and between New Zealand and Australia, forcing commercial flights between the two countries to be diverted.
A few days after the fourth-ranked leader of the Communist Party of China Wang Huning called for a bigger “reunion” effort. China has long insisted that Taiwan is a rebel territory belonging to Beijing.

Henning said that China must “firmly grasp the right to rule and the initiative to cross cross-border relations, and firmly promote the cause of national reunification,” Henning said.

In recent years, Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly stated that he is willing to take over Taiwan by force.
The Chinese exercise comes a day after the Taiwan Coast Guard (CGA) detained a Chinese crew member who allegedly cut off a submarine fiber cable connecting Taiwan and Penger Island.

Taiwan was split from mainland China in 1949, when the pro-democratic army fled to Mao Zedong’s Communist Party after losing the civil war.
