Comet joins the colorful Aurora Australis in the Tasmania sky
On February 1st, the colorful display of the southern lamp was captured in Tasmania, and a comet could also be seen in the night sky.
Ben Swanson captured a timely shot here. He told Storyful. This was the result of using three cameras to take about 7,000 photos and edited it together.
The sequence captures the sun, and then the crescent moon, with a comet C/2024 G3 stripe in the sky, and then the amazing aurora.
The comet can be seen from the southern hemisphere in early January and early February because it is close to the sun and it is expected that it will not be seen for thousands of years. Credit: Ben Swanson (Ben Swanson) through the story
