Collins’ correctional facilities locked down due to incident
Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB) – Collins Correctional Institution was at noon Wednesday, in the early morning after an incident in prison.
The New York State Department of Corrections said all employees and inmates were explained and safe.
A union spokesman told WIVB News 4’s Dillon Morello that some of the incarcerated people blocked themselves in their dormitories. There were no guards or staff inside at that time.
New York State Police said they are aware and are ready to help when needed.
During lockdown, all prisoners were confined to their cells, and their movement was significantly limited. It is not clear when the lock will be cancelled.
