Cohesity CEO talks about the impact of Trump 2.0 on the cybersecurity field

President Donald Trump announced a new $500 billion artificial intelligence project called Stargate. The project is a private sector investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Cohesity CEO and President Sanjay Poonen joins Market Domination Overtime anchors Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton to discuss the impact on the cybersecurity industry.

“We are focused on protecting the world’s data, and many of these projects, whether it’s Stargate or other projects, are artificial intelligence based on large amounts of data,” Poonen said. “We specialize in protecting the world’s data and offer two tools to protect it from ransomware attacks.”

Punin also discussed U.S.-China relations and any threats China poses to cybersecurity during Trump’s second term.

“A lot of the cybersecurity people in the government that we work with are looking at China,” Punin said.

When asked about the potential of Cohesity’s IPO, Poonen said: “Of course, the IPO has raised eyebrows. It’s not a goal for any company. It’s a milestone and we are the most profitable company.”
