Chief WR Xavier Worthy’s fiancé says she was granted temporary protection order after the attack arrest
Her attorney announced Wednesday through KVUE’s Cory Mose that Xavier Worthy’s fiancé Tia Jones has received a temporary protection order against a wide range of recipients of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The order was granted charges of assaulting a family or House member after being arrested Saturday and hindering breathing or circulation, a third-degree felony assault. However, hours after his arrest, the charge status in his jail record has been updated to “fired/denied” and local district attorneys said he would not file a lawsuit.
Jones’ legal team’s full statement continues to charge allegations worthy of violence against its clients:
“Today, Tia Jones proposed a protection order against Xavier Worthy [sic] His violent actions against her climaxed on the evening of March 7, 2025. Based on real information provided by Ms. Jones, the judge approved the interim protection order on her behalf. She is working fully with law enforcement as they continue to actively investigate the violence that night.
“Multiple sclerosis. Jones chose to speak for herself in her voice. In this way, she looks forward to the facts and circumstances revealed that night through formal legal proceedings and the justice she deserves. She thanks for the support she has received so far.”
It is worth noting that the statement features the wrong date (March 15, 2024″ and is at the top of the document, while also missing a word (“on”) in the first sentence.
Worthy’s legal team released a statement through a professional football talk clarifying that the document was filed in civil court, calling the allegations against its clients “false” and accusing Jones of stolen items while Worthy was jailed:
“We know the civil court (not the criminal court) filed by Ms. Jones and her criminal defense panel,” they said in a press release to PFT. “Mr. It is worth denying every charge of Ms. Jones. Unfortunately, false charges continue to be filed this time in the civil court. Today, the plaintiff returned to items stolen from Worthy’s residence during his jail, and some items remained missing from the time of incarceration. After law enforcement reviews Ms. Jones’ unfounded allegations, Mr. Worthy insisted on his innocence and reached the conclusion of the district attorney.”
It seems worth it still has no criminal charges. Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick told Austin American politician his office refused to accept the case, banning new developments on the grounds that the sheriff’s office investigated further and discussed with third-party witnesses.
Worthy recently ended his rookie season with the Chiefs, who ranked 28th in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He grabbed 59 of 98 targets, 638 yards, and scored 63 highest 6 catches in the first year, rising on the depth list of injuries to Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown.
