Chelsea Freeman Provides latest news about her son’s hopes Maximum value,4, was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease last year.
Max Chelsea shares with husband Los Angeles Dodgers Freddie Freeman – He was taken to the hospital in July 2024 after he was unable to sit, stand or walk. Chelsea, 33, and Freddie, 35, finally announced that Max was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves.
In with US WeeklyChelsea explains Max’s progress in the months since his first hospitalization.
“He has always been so resilient,” Chelsea said, for both adults and kids. “It’s amazing to see. He’s still here [physical therapy] Twice a week. It will be a full year of recovery before he returns to normal. ”
In a look back on the ordeal, an emotional Chelsea called it “the most terrible thing I’ve ever experienced.”
“It’s very, very intense,” Chelsea said. “Obviously, it tells us that health is everything. It’s so bad. He’s completely paralyzed on the ventilator. Seeing him able to play outside is really a miracle of how sick he is.”
Max, 4, did more than just play outside. Chelsea said he had already taken a swimming class and she and Freddy recently signed him to the minor league.
“I wasn’t even sure if he could play baseball a few months ago,” Chelsea admitted. “You don’t know how the recovery will go.”
Not only did Max chase his father—the Dodgers were named World Series MVP in October after defeating the New York Yankees in five games—he also picked up the bats in front of him with his two older brothers.

In addition to Max, Chelsea and Freddy share their son Charlie,8, then Brandon4 years old, was born three months before surrogacy.
“It’s really cool,” Chelsea said, seeing her three boys on the diamond. “Freddie grew up and was in the Little League, so it was absolutely cool to see Charlie as baseball. Brandon was left-handed like Freddie. Max was athletic too. It was special to see them follow in their father’s footsteps.”
As baseball season approaches – for Freddie and the boys, Chelsea will use it! To help her family protect her from mosquitoes and other annoying harm while enjoying her American pastime.
“My kids actually love to wear it,” Chelsea laughed. “With the start of baseball and the warm weather, bugs and ticks…I love this product and obviously I can wear my kids. They don’t use it at all to fight me. It’s a very important way to prevent it for me.”
