Songwriter and guitarist of American rock band The Doors, Robby Krieger is gearing up to release his first new record in 10 years.
Dubbed The Ritual Begins At Sundown, the new album was made in collaboration with Krieger’s longtime creative partner and co-producer, Arthur Barrow.
“I was hanging out with my buddy Arthur Barrow and we had some songs we had been fooling around with then we got some other friends involved,” Krieger explained about how the new album was put together.
The album also features collaborations with artists of the likes of Jock Ellis (Trombone), Sal Marquez (Trumpet) and Tommy Mars (Keys), among others, each of whom has previously worked with Frank Zappa.
The new album will be a follow-up to Krieger’s 2000 Grammy-nominated album, Singularity, and will be released on April 24, 2020, via his new record label, Mascot Label Group.
