Stella Tennant’s cause of death confirmed by heartbroken family as model took her own life

Model Stella Tennant’s family have revealed that she tragically took her own life. The star had been unwell for some time, and “felt unable to go on” before her death at the age of 50, her family has confirmed.

In a heartbreaking statement, Stella’s family said: “We have been humbled by the outpouring of messages of sympathy and support since Stella died.

“She was a beautiful soul, adored by a close family and good friends, a sensitive and talented woman whose creativity, intelligence and humour touched so many.

“Stella had been unwell for some time. 

“So it is a matter of our deepest sorrow and despair that she felt unable to go on, despite the love of those closest to her.”

“In grieving Stella’s loss, her family renews a heartfelt request that respect for their privacy should continue,” her family added in a statement to The Telegraph.

Stella’s family announced the sad news of her death last month.

They said in a statement: “It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Stella Tennant on 22nd December 2020.

“Stella was a wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed.”

 

The statement concluded: “Her family ask for their privacy to be respected. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.”

A police spokesman said there were “no suspicious circumstances” around her death, which came five days after her 50th birthday.

Stella rose to fame on the catwalk and was beloved by designers for her androgynous looks.

She appeared on runways and magazine covers around the world and starred in campaigns for designer brands including Calvin Klein, Chanel and Burberry.
