“Difficult time to celebrate but Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone, especially to my favourite Irishman @eamonnholmes.”
Sharing the same snap of himself and Ruth wearing four-leaf clover glasses, her husband Eamonn added: “Sometimes a Girl can just have too much fun.
“Ruth’s Birthday and #StPatricksDay all on the same Day !!!!!”
Ruth made her TV debut back in the 1990s on The Really Useful show alongside fellow Loose Women star Kaye Adams.
She later joined the This Morning presenting team alongside her husband, Eamonn Holmes in 2002.
During an interview last year Ruth admitted looking back on her career, she didn’t expect to still be presenting on TV at 60.
She explained to HELLO!: “I didn’t think I would still be working in television at 60 because when I was in my 30s you didn’t see 60-year-old women in television.
“Women were farmed off when they hit 40 – but it’s very different now and that’s thanks to those who forged the way for older women; people like Gloria Hunniford and Janet Street-Porter.”

Ruth later reflected on her life and career adding: “I can’t quite believe I have reached the big 6-0 because when you are in your 20s, you think it’s really old. But actually, I am quite excited about it.
“I am very happy in my life, I have got a very happy marriage, a lovely family, I love my work and my career, so everything is going really well.”
The 60-year-old and husband Eamonn have been together over two decades and tied the knot in 2010.
In an interview last year, Ruth spoke candidly of how Eamonn has supported her over the years.
She explained: “We’ve been together 23 years so it has been a long and happy relationship but we have our moments.
“There are times when he really annoys me and I really annoy him and there are times when I think, ‘Get out of my face.’
“Obviously, you’re not always going to get on, but you have to make it work. Underneath it all, we know we have a strong relationship.”
Lose a Stone in 4 Weeks will air tonight on Channel 5 from 7pm.
