Prince George ‘went crazy for Craig David’s sparkly Jubilee outfit’, says William

Craig David has revealed thatPrince George went “crazy” for a particular outfit of his during his appearance at the Platinum Jubilee’s Party at the Palace celebrations earlier this summer.

Back in June, nine year old George attended the concert which was held outside of Buckingham Palace alongside his extended familyto celebrate the late Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking 70-year long reign.

With a line-up including the likes of Diana Ross, George Ezra and Rod Stewart, the royals were kept entertained by some of the best acts around, with Prince William and George even sharing a sweet moment together as they sang along to Sweet Caroline.

And now, Craig David has opened up about his experience of performing at the historic concert during an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show which will air on Saturday 19 November on ITV.

While attending a “little soiree” at Buckingham Palace before the performance, the 41 year old explained thatPrince William, 40, had let him in on a secret regarding his son.

“Prince William walks over, he comes over, says, ‘My son George was going crazy for the blue sequined outfit that you were wearing’,” he said.

“My mum was there, I said, ‘Lovely to meet you, love that George loved the outfit’.”

Recalling his favourite moment, the star continued: “That moment for me, as a son (introducing my mother to William), was probably the most incredible moment for me.

While speaking to host Jonathan, the Fill Me In singer also explained how William was “super down-to-earth” and said that he believed Princes William and Harry were part of a new chapter for the monarchy.

“It’s almost like seeing him and seeing Harry and seeing the next generation coming through, I feel it’s giving a different tone to the royal family,” he added.

And discussing King Charles, The Prince’s Trust ambassador said: “Whenever I met him, it’s not the pretence of what could come with being a royal.

“He’s very down-to-earth and he is very much an advocate for, ‘How can we help the young children?’”

This isn’t the first time that a celebrity has shone a light on the royal family’s more light-hearted side – while receiving his OBE for sport and charity work earlier this month,Rio Ferdinand revealed that Prince William had teased him about his former team losing.

“Aston Villa, his team he supports, beat Man United at the weekend and that was the first thing he said,” he explained.

“But, no, it was great. It was great to see him. I’ve been lucky to meet him quite a few times so talking about family really.”
