Olly Murs shares regret over Coronation concert after baffling fans

Olly Murs thanks fans following coronation concert

Olly Murs looked ecstatic as he recorded video footage of himself on his way home from the Coronation Concert after party, where he light-heartedly bragged that he’d been “mingling with the royals”.

“It was fantastic, got to meet some absolute legends,” Olly enthused, adding cryptically: “I wish I could have done more, but what an honour it was!”

The hitmaker didn’t detail what changes he would’ve liked to have made but could have been referring to the number of songs he sang.

He thanked fans for their “kind” social media messages, but didn’t mention the trend that had swept Twitter for questioning the American accent he seemed to have adopted during the show.

“Olly is American now,” one bemused fan wrote, while another described him as “the new Liam Payne with the American accent”.

However, another defended: “I love Olly and I know he sings in an American accent but he’s at the KING OF ENGLAND’S Coronation guys.”(sic)

Olly had previously praised the show’s “incredible” atmosphere and gushed that he was “honoured to be invited and… to get everyone moving and dancing and having fun”.

In his video message, posted to almost four and a half million followers, he mentioned that, after the adrenalin of the event, he’d be spending the next two weeks more calmly at home.

The singer, who’d been using hardcore gym sessions to manage his nerves in the lead-up to the big night, said he and fiancée Amelia Tank would now be having some “me time”, alongside their beloved dog.

Still on a high from the emotional event, he assured fans he’d “loved every minute of it” and was “proud”.

His performance at the 1000 year old historic castle saw some declare him their king.

Always one for a joke, Olly had used a Snapchat filter yesterday to transform himself into a pensioner for video footage, croaking: “This journey to Windsor’s taking ages!”

He also posted behind the scenes action from his dressing room, where he captured some of the bustling action outside.

Later in the evening, Olly gave a flawless rendition of his hit Dance With Me Tonight, while King Charles and Queen Camilla looked on admiringly.

Little Prince Louis wasn’t present at the event due to his tender age, and some Twitter fans speculated that the evening show could have disrupted his bedtime routine.

However, his older siblings Charlotte and George were both present and looked enthusiastic to see the stars on stage.
