The mother of former Love Island star Olivia Attwood has said she still "doesn't know" why her daughter was removed from the I'm A Celebrity jungle this week after just 24 hours.
Though ITV – as well as the show's presenters Ant and Dec – have said reality star Olivia, 31, was forced to withdraw on "medical grounds", her mum Jenny Attwood says she's still in the dark as to the truth behind her daughter's exit.
Taking to Instagram on Monday evening to share a snap of Olivia, Jenny wrote, "Thank you for all your kind messages. We don't know exactly what happened at the moment.
"Please see Olivia's Instagram post."
In the hours following the shocking news of Olivia's departure, a representative of her own Instagram account posted on her story.
"To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement," the story read. "She dreamed of doing I'm A Celebrity for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).
"However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short.
"Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has. You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on your screens in the New Year.
"Ps. Who’s going to roast Matt Hancock now??"
Earlier this week, an ITV representative told OK! over Olivia's exit: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
"Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be further investigation."
"She has been absolutely brilliant and she'll be very much missed on the show," they added.
A show insider has also since told The Sun: "Olivia was involved in a medical drama overnight. She really wanted to go back into the camp but medics won't let her."
Fans of the show were left confused last night after Olivia's exit from the Australian jungle was cut from the show altogether.
Though the brand new series of the show kicked off on Sunday 6 November, with the former Love Island star being second campmate to arrive, she had to leave the show less 24 hours later for medical reasons.
Not long after the announcement she was seen arriving at the airport as she headed back to the United Kingdom.
While Ant and Dec addressed Olivia leaving the show at the start of Monday 7 November's episode, viewers weren't too pleased that the show didn't film her exit scenes.
Taking to Twitter, many fans wondered why they couldn't see the moment Olivia left the jungle.
One person said: "Must’ve been serious with Olivia, no footage or discussion of her leaving the jungle, just a quick mention by Dec last night. #ImACeleb."
A second wrote: "Why haven’t they covered Olivia leaving 🙁 #ImACeleb."
Another asked: "Are they not showing us Olivia leaving? This is all so sus #ImACeleb."
And a fourth added: "Seems strange that Olivia just left the jungle without showing the events that led to her leaving usually there’s some footage but this time there was nothing she was there in one vt then she wasn’t not even campmates saying goodbye #IACGMOOH #ImACeleb."
