Matt Lucas and his mum confirmed for Stand Up To Cancers Celebrity Gogglebox

Matt Lucas and his mother Diane have been confirmed for Friday night's Celebrity Gogglebox in support of Stand Up To Cancer.

The Little Britain star will take to the sofa with his mum to offer their witty comments and critiques on a series of television series.

Discussing his excitement, the 47 year old said: "Mum and I love Gogglebox, so we're extremely chuffed to be on the sofa together in support of the brilliant Stand Up To Cancer."

Matt also couldn't resist coming up with some interesting new show ideas to watch, including a crossover between one of Netflix's biggest current hits and a British fan favourite.

"Excited for the Squid Game/Bake Off crossover in which we say goodbye to the baker who is leaving us, and then Prue clatters them with a frying pan," he added to The Mirror.

Matt and his mother's pairing will be interesting to watch as he previously revealed that she has told him off for "smutty" series, Little Britain.

"Some people said that Little Britain was a bit rude, and mum was one of those who thought it was a bit smutty," Matt previously revealed.

The pair will join a star-studded line-up on the charity special.

The likes of Aisling Bea and Rob Delaney as well as Michael Sheen and his partner Anna Lundberg will be taking to their living rooms for the much loved Channel 4 series.

Gogglebox favourites such as the Siddiqui family and Jenny and Lee will also return for the show.

Graham Norton will also feature on the show alongside Strictly Come Dancing star, Michelle Visage.

Speaking about Celeb Gogglebox, Graham told The Sun: "Cancer keeps robbing us of the most wonderful people, so it's an honour for Michelle and me to be taking our places on the hallowed Gogglebox sofa for this year's Stand Up To Cancer campaign."

Michelle added: "I lost both my adoptive and biological mothers to this awful disease, so it's incredibly important to me to support the amazing work Stand Up To Cancer do."

Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK's Stand Up To Cancer Celebrity Gogglebox special will air on Friday at 9 pm.
