Love Island’s Gemma Owen and Luca Bish split after three months together

Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have called time on their relationship after three months of dating.

The pair met in the Love Island villa over the summer and became boyfriend and girlfriend shortly after the show ended – where Luca, 23, pulled out all the stops to make things official with Gemma, 19.

There has since been speculation that their relationship was on the rocks, with Gemma now confirming that they've called it quits.

Gemma took to Instagram to announce their split, admitting that it "wasn't an easy decision".

She wrote: "To all my followers, I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn't an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for us both right now."

Gemma went on: "Many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning, and I wanted to thank you for your continued support as we start our new chapters."

Luca himself is yet to comment on the split.

Their break up comes shortly after they jetted off to Dubai together with Gemma's family, her former footballer dad Michael included.

The pair shared a series of loved-up snaps while on holiday appearing to squash any rumours of a break up, but evidently things weren't meant to be – despite them sharing plans to move in together and get a dog.

“We’d like a dog. The first thing we’ll get when we move out is a dog,” Luca revealed to OK! in September.

“We will get one,” confirmed Gemma at the time.

Gemma's announcement comes after a source told Mail Online that apparently Luca and Gemma's relationship wasn't the same outside the villa.

"Their relationship hasn't worked for the last few weeks, and they have come to the conclusion that it's better for them both to end things now.

"They hope to remain friends and will continue to support each other in everything they do going forward."

"Love Island was a special time in their lives but sadly their romance hasn't felt the same outside of the villa," they added.

As Gemma and Luca go their separate ways, this year's couples Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, as well as Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack still appear to be going strong.

Love Island winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti also appear happier than ever.
