Kerry Katona has revealed her daughter Heidi wants to be famous, but "doesn't have the confidence" as she "cares too much what people think".
Kerry, 42, shared a clip of Heidi, 15, her daughter with ex Mark Croft, singing Rhianna's hit song Lift Me Up as she showed off her "beautiful voice" on Instagram last week.
Opening up about her musical talent, Kerry has now told us: "I posted a video of Heidi singing last week.
"She has a beautiful voice. The thing is, she’s brilliant and wants to be famous but doesn’t have the confidence. She cares too much what people think."
The former Atomic Kitten star – also mum to son Max, 14, with Mark, as well as daughters Molly, 21, and Lilly, 19, with ex Brian McFadden, and Dylan-Jorge, eight, with the late George Kay – went on to say that she thinks social media has "ruined" her kids' lives.
"I believe social media has ruined kids’ lives. Well, definitely my kids’," she said.
"We were at a restaurant the other day and I politely called the waitress over to order. Max was mortified, he said it’s embarrassing. Apparently it’s all over TikTok that it’s embarrassing to call over a waitress?! What should I do – send telepathic messages?! It’s ridiculous. Social media has changed the world so much."
Kerry added: "I had to ask Heidi for permission before I could post the video. God forbid I didn’t! I try to teach them not to care about other people’s opinions but it’s hard to get through to them."
In the black and white clip, originally posted on TikTok, Heidi can be seen singing with the time stamp 22:54. Kerry wrote alongside: "Just Beautiful," with a love heart emoji before tagging Heidi.
The youngster was inundated with comments from Kerry's celeb pals, with Ulrika Jonsson writing four love heart emojis.
Ian Waite wrote: "OMG who knew @heidikatona you little superstar," while Alex Murphy added: "She's amazing."
Ben Ofoedu also commented: "Beautiful."
Heidi previously appeared on The Voice Kids in 2020.
Heidi, who was 13 at the time, took to the stage on the ITV show to sing a cover of Macy Gray’s hit I Try and instantly had the mentors in the palm of her hands. Will.i.am, Danny Jones and Paloma Faith all spun their chairs round to indicate they wanted little Heidi on their team, despite the fact that just minutes earlier the youngster was in floods of tears backstage.
Opening up about her experience, Heidi told us: "I don’t know how I was feeling. But something inside me just clicked and the words just came out. Next thing I know, Will.i.am turned around and I remember looking at Mum. My confidence just seemed to come back and I sang right to the end, even though it wasn’t my best performance."
Mum Kerry added: "It was incredible. But it took a lot for her to get to that point. The fact she got to the end of that song was a win in itself. The difference in her getting through, the confidence, was so amazing to see. And that was all I wanted. She was so strong. But my God was I stressed."
