Lucy Verasamy, 42, took to Twitter on Thursday to address the strangely warm conditions in the UK at the time. The ITV weather presenter joked about how people have put away their summer clothes too soon.

In full view of her 172,300 followers, she questioned why so many “fools” had packed their warm weather clothing away for the Autumn and Winter amid freak weather conditions.

She wrote: “How many fools put away their summery clothes?!

“21C today…followed by another exceptional mild night.”

It came on the weekend of 28th October, when figures reached 20 degrees across most of Western Europe.

Fans took to the comments to express their thoughts on the matter.

@JasonDamianCole penned: “Do people actually have summer and winter wardrobes?

“In winter I just put a jumper over my summer stuff.”

@Shane676 wrote: “Very mild for this time of year hopefully it lasts.”

@RogersLeeRogers commented: “Cant believe how mild it is for october!! Im guessing we havent a chance of a white xmas @LucyWeather.”

It comes after the brunette beauty wowed fans with a seasonal snap.

Embracing the autumnal climate, the meteorologist looked incredible as she posed among a field of pumpkins.

Getting into the Halloween spirit, the glamorous weather forecaster wowed fans as she held a huge Jack-o’-lantern with the ITV logo carved out of it.

Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Lucy penned a caption which explained why there are so few pumpkins this year.

“Golden Hour,” she penned in the caption, before adding: “Pumpkin picking for this evenings @itvnews.”

Lucy went on: “A mild October & record breaking hot summer means fewer but better quality pumpkins…

“After Halloween the remaining harvest is donated to the @thefelixproject (such a good idea!!) – thank you for having us @pumpkinmoonuk.”

Taking to the comments section on Twitter, seamus_duff: “Beautiful as always Lucy.”

“Best meteorologist on telly by far,” swooned chris_baber.

While peak_feeling_ski joked: “A rose between several pumpkins.”
