Huw Edwards was joined by a host of famous faces including Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid, and host Roman Kemp at the star-studded event today. The BBC broadcaster wore a Welsh-themed face covering at the TRIC Awards 2021.

The BBC News at Ten broadcaster looked dapper as he posed for pictures on the red carpet.

The 60-year-old was all smiles as the news anchor channelled James Bond in his smart attire.

Huw sported a black and white suit with a bow tie before the journalist decided to accompany his look with a facemask.

The BBC broadcaster donned his Welsh flag face covering on the red carpet.

It comes after Huw openly mocked the BBC for “ordering” him to delete his tweet back in March that saw him pose in front of a Welsh flag, after a giant Union Jack was spotted in Cardiff’s council offices.

He made light of the situation after retweeting an image of a giant Union Jack, joking: “I’m not allowed to comment on political or flag matters,” alongside a smirking face and an emoji of the Welsh flag.

The BBC broadcaster had made reference to a previous joke in which he said he would present BBC News in front of the Flag of Wales – after he rushed to the defence of BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty.

It comes after she came under fire for liking tweets mocking Robert Jenrick’s Union flag during his interview on the programme.

He initially shared a photo of himself, edited so it seemed like he was hosting the news with the flag’s famous red dragon behind him.

However, shortly after it was posted, Huw’s tweet was deleted.

At the time, Huw claimed the BBC had “ordered” him to delete the post.

More recently, the broadcaster revealed that he was asked to remove his mask on the tube in London by an “angry man”.

Huw explained that the person in question was “offended” by his Welsh-themed mask.

Meanwhile, the BBC anchor has been nominated for Best News presenter at this year’s TRIC Awards.

The broadcaster went up against Good Morning Britain colleagues Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

However, Huw lost out to the coveted by Piers who took home the win who cheekily swiped the broadcaster calling him “Who Edwards?”

The former GMB presenter thanked his former work wife Susanna after taking to the stage.

He later asked his former co-presenter to join him on stage during his acceptance speech.

Taking to Twitter today, Huw shared an image of him pretending to be James Bond.

In view of his 132,000 followers, he tweeted: “Licence to win #007 And good luck to @susannareid100 @[email protected]
