Holly Willoughby gushes over ‘lovely’ daughter, 10, in rare parenting comments

Holly Willoughby has gushed over her daughter Belle, giving fans a rare insight into her life as a mum.

This Morning star Holly, 40, gushed over her "amazing" daughter Belle, 10, and revealed she admires her daughters ability to empathise with others.

In an interview with Grazia magazine, she explained: "Empathy is a lovely thing. My daughter has it. She's amazing, you can stick her in any situation."

Like her adorable daughter mum-of-three Holly also prides herself in having empathy for others, too. But, she admitted she used to try and hide her emotions after being criticised in the early days of her presenting This Morning.

Holly revealed: "I had to control it in a way. Sometimes I can find myself in situations where I’ve really absorbed the energy of what’s going on, I can feel it so much that I start to feel like it’s happening to me

"I could empathise so much that the emotion would be rising up inside me and I would just start crying.

"It took me a really long time to feel comfortable and go, why? Why do we not do that? Why are you not allowed to feel emotion."

She added: "People were saying, 'I'm watching this and I’m crying with you'. If I was at home watching this, I’d be crying too. We’re all real people. With real emotions.

"I’m not going to worry any more. [Crying] is seen as being a weakness, as a feminine trait, and success, up until quite recently, looked more like a man than a woman. This was hard for me."

Holly is a proud mum to Belle as well as sons Harry, 12, and Chester, seven. The TV shares her three children with her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin.

The TV presenter has been hosting This Morning alongside Phillip Schofield since 2009.

In the candid interview she also opened up about filming the "gruelling" daytime ITV programme.

She said: "It is two and a half hours of live telly.

"If you were to do that amount of live telly with someone who drove you nuts, wound you up, annoyed you in any way, well, I think you can only do that with a friend, day in, day out."

Phillip, 59, and Holly also host Dancing on Ice together. The pair also appear to be very close friends outside of their joint TV shows.

After coming out as gay, Phillip praised his TV bestie's support before he told the world his news.

He previously told The Times Magazine: "To think how lucky I am to have been able to have worked through all of this [and] to have had the therapy that Holly’s given me all the way through.

"I have been broadcasting a long time, but I never thought I’d actually broadcast through something like this."
