Asher Angel is one of many in the music industry who is taking a stand in solidarity for George Floyd and Black Lives Matter.
The 17-year-old singer took to Instagram to speak out in support of the movement, and share that he will take part in the music industry’s “Black Out Tuesday” (June 2).
“I hear you. I see you. I am with you. Tomorrow I’m participating in Black Out Tuesday to reflect on the racial injustices going on in this country. I encourage you to join me and disconnect from social media on Tuesday and instead reconnect with your community. Let’s talk about it and spread the word. #TheShowMustBePaused #BlackLivesMatter,” Asher shared on Instagram.
On Tuesday (June 2), music industry professionals will use the day to disconnect from work and reconnect with our community, and is an urgent step of action to provoke accountability and change.
