After AJ’s departure from Strictly, he and Curtis announced they would be going into presenting together. However, amid lockdown, the pair are seen to have isolated together with their family but what have AJ and Curtis said of their family life?

In an interview with Express.co.uk back in April, the pair spoke of how dancing is in their blood quite literally.

Curtis said: “Dancing is in our blood, it’s our passion.

“We have literally been around it since we were kids from our father being an ex-champion and we will always have that in our lives until maybe the day we pass.”

AJ went on to say how dancing has given them both confidence to pursue a career in presenting.

AJ explained: “It’s what has given us the confidence to really go and perform in front of thousands and millions of people, so its a skill we have trained all of our lives.

“We are never going to turn our back on something that has got us to where we are now.”

While AJ and Curtis are well-known faces on our screens, the pair have also previously opened up on how supportive their family is of them.

Their father, Adrian, is an experienced ballroom and Latin dancer.

Adrian recently opened up to the Mirror on how his dancing career started.

Adrian told the publication: “My whole family did it – we’d all go dancing together.

“Although I remember being about 14 or 15 and stopping.

“I was much more into basketball and football at that point.

“But six months later I realised that I missed it, so I went back to it, and I’ve danced ever since.”

Later in the interview, Adrian spoke of how his father supported his pursuit of dance.

Adrian said: “Yes, but then I think what I could’ve been doing with my life.

“I always remember my own father, who supported me with my dancing when I was young, saying that for what he’d spent on it he could’ve had a Rolls-Royce.”

He went on to say: “So I could probably have got a yacht.”

AJ later spoke of how Adrian had been in the audience of every single strictly show even after recovering from an operation.

AJ said: “When we were competing, I think he only missed one or two competitions in 10 years.

“And he’s been to every single Strictly show. Even one a week after he had a hip operation.”
