James Carville says latest Trump move makes him want to smash the computer

Senior Democratic strategist James Carville said the Republican response to the consequences of the tariffs left him intending to smash his computer in anger.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer asked Carville about his taxes on goods on Mexico, Canada and China and the Fallout tax on Fallout.

“I’m starting to think maybe Donald Trump hates America.” Otherwise, Trump’s economic and foreign policy strategy is ridiculous. “I can’t stand out from my mind, and I think this person has the possibility—we have to consider the possibility that the president hates our country.”

James Carville, a long-time Democratic strategist, slammed Republicans for controversy over tariffs.

Blitzer then played R-Mo. Rep. Mark Alford’s clip, talking about the impact of Trump’s trade war.

“We all can play a role in this to be the right size of the government. If I have to pay more for something, then I want to make it right again the United States again and start to lower this $3.6 billion or half or trillion in debt. It’s not sustainable.

CNN’s Manu Raju asked Republican congressmen in the same clip: “Do you think many voters feel the same way, they are willing to give more?”

“Okay, I think so,” Alford replied.

When Blitzer asked for his response to the editing, Carville said he had to restrain himself from destroying the computer.

“Well, I want to take a deep breath here, so I’m not going to start hitting my computer from the chair. But if I think of him running, he’ll cut grocery store prices from day one, he’ll lighten American consumers.” “We’re six weeks, what are we? Maybe not even that. Has anyone heard of it?” [before]?

“And then, what do you have is one of the biggest, I don’t know, funny, stupid or verbal? The Minister of Agriculture actually advises people to breed chickens in the backyard to deal with the price of eggs.”

“So that’s where we are,” Cavill said as he continued to laugh at what he said was the Republican mentality, “‘Yes, you’re going to have to give more, but you’ll love it. If you want to help it a little, help it a little, buy some chickens and put them in the backyard.'”

“I’m not kidding, OK,” continued the long-time Democratic strategist. “We’ve seen this with our own eyes, and I’m sitting in this chair just trying to take a deep breath and say, a few hail Marys are going to be strong again, not just frustrated to hit the computer. But that’s where we are, man. We shouldn’t be fooling ourselves.”

In a joint speech to Congress, Trump warned that tariffs would cause “a little disturbance” but “not too much.”

“Tariffs are not only about protecting the work of the United States, but also about protecting the soul of our country. Tariffs are about making the United States richer and making the United States great again,” he said.
