That’s family, friends and teachers say they’ll remember Thomas Cooper, 5, who died in a high-pressure indoor death at a medical facility in Troy, Michigan last month.
These descriptions constitute a heartfelt sue about Cooper, which was before his memorial visit about two weeks after his death.
Cooper was being processed indoors, a pressurized container filled with 100% oxygen when it suddenly exploded in the Oxford Center at 165 Kirts Blvd.

Police and fire officials said he died in the room when they arrived at the scene, while his mother, Annie, also suffered a wound to her arm in the room.

The family’s attorney James Harrington received treatment for sleep apnea and attention deficit/ADHD for the Oxford Center, the family’s attorney told NBC Washington.

The chamber is used to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a typical chamber that can accommodate a person. It requires the patient to lie in a tubular device that looks like an MRI machine and breathes oxygen. The amount of oxygen in a high-pressure room is three times that in an ordinary room.
Harrington said the boy’s parents hoped the services would improve his quality of life.
“This is not an absolutely needed lifesaving measure,” Harrington told the media. “It is a mother who tries to help her son under certain conditions and is guaranteed that in these conditions and this treatment they will be able to Help.”
“Anne is trying to help her child like any parent, just like a good parent.”
Harrington, managing partner of Fieger Law in Southfield, Michigan, said the boy received multiple hyperbaric oxygen therapy at the center before the tragedy.
It is not clear what caused the explosion of the chamber. Harrington said the family intends to file a lawsuit to prevent similar incidents from happening again, adding that the boy’s parents “absolutely suffered destruction.”
The prosecutor also mentioned that Cooper likes to make art and is constantly curious about the world around him and loves to know how things work.
“At night, he likes to listen to audiobooks while trying to fall asleep, some of his favorites are the daily Yoto, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, as well as James and The Giant Peach,” Obituary wrote.

NBC Washington reported that the location was temporarily closed when authorities investigated the deadly incident. According to police, no charges have been filed.
In May 2009, an explosion in a pressurized oxygen chamber killed a 4-year-old and his 62-year-old grandmother. The explosion exploded a tube connected to the high-pressure chamber, causing an explosion and flash fire.
