Bitcoin-friendly Vivek Ramaswamy announces bid for Ohio governor, Trump offers a full recognition: “Young, strong and smart”

Entrepreneur-turned politicians and former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy Monday officially announced his intention to run for Ohio governor in 2026.
what happened: Ramaswamy announced his candidacy Monday at a Cincinnati rally near his birthplace and said: “I am honored to formally announce my candidacy as the next Ohio governor.”
President Donald Trump Later on Monday endorsed Ramaswamy’s bid, saying his former Republican primary rival was “special” in the Truth Society position.
“He will be a great governor of Ohio and will never let you down and be recognized by me in full and comprehensive manner,” Trump added.
Interestingly, Ramaswamy avoided mentioning the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge), the ambitious federal cost-cutting initiative, which he briefly co-hosted with tech entrepreneurs Elon Musk.

Why it matters: Ramaswamy’s exit from Mendoge triggered rumours nervous with Musk. The governor hopes he wants to reform through elected positions, especially at the state level.
Ramaswamy is a famous Bitcoin BTC/USD Advocates believe that leading cryptocurrencies may become the popular company in the future.
In his campaign for Republican presidential nomination, he favored treating most cryptocurrencies as commodities and prioritized digital wallets run by software developers and owners. He also began accepting Bitcoin payments from campaign donations.
