Progressive groups across the country once again protested President Donald Trump on Monday. The 50501 movement organized a “Not My President’s Day” or “No Kings Day” protest, a coalition of activists who oppose Trump’s “excessive executives.”
From Austin, Texas to Orlando, Florida and Boston, to Phoenix, demonstrators gathered in cities across the United States, holding handmade signs and singing songs of resistance and chanting in protest. On Presidents Day, there are more than a thousand reflecting swimming pools gathered at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
“On Monday, we call on organizations and activists across the country to stand together again,” Sarah, the organizer of Florida, said in a statement ahead of Presidential Day. “We won’t quietly attribute fascism to it.” For fascism. The 50501 campaign means one day protests are held in 50 states in 50 states, starting with Sarah, a core member of the state.
