Angelina Jolie Thinking of her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.
The 49-year-old Academy Award winner won the Mardin Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California on Wednesday, February 5, while also receiving her mother’s memories.
“I thought of my mother…she had to give up on her dream of creativity, but she embraced that side of me,” Julie said, referring to Bertrand, who is also an actress. (Bertrand died in January 2007 after battling breast and ovarian cancer.)
Jolie points out that while she is still alive, mom will write to Jolie’s role in the movie.
