Altadena and Pacific Palisades community members: Help us share your stories of loss

The Times is establishing a community page for friends, family and fellow Angelenos to commemorate what we lost in the Eaton and Palisades fires.
The fires ravaged the community, killing at least two dozen people. People lost their homes. Cultural landmarks were destroyed. Livelihoods were upended. If you are in a safe area and would like to share your memory of an item lost in the fire, please fill out the form below.
The Times will use your story and photos to capture what is lost in visual memory for later publication.
Altadena and Pacific Palisades are home to vibrant, close-knit communities. The outpouring of mutual aid and commitment to rebuilding in the first days after the fires proved that the soul of these communities is not lost. We want to amplify the voices and stories of these communities and honor these experiences.
We know that some people may not yet have the words to describe the impact of wildfires, and that processing and healing efforts are evolving and will take time. At The Times, we intend to honor each person’s unique feelings and experiences in the face of this tragedy and provide space for reflection, storytelling and the ongoing journey of recovery.
Submissions will be open for several weeks. We may not be able to respond to and publish every submission, but we will read every one. Multiple submissions are welcome. This community page is a space for you, whenever you want to be.
It will be here.
