AMD executives say this is the “iPhone moment” for artificial intelligence PCs
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) launched a new line of artificial intelligence (AI) PC and graphics chips at CES 2025. Chips, the power of AI PCs, and AMD’s competitive positioning.
Tikoo discusses the current evolution of AI PC. “The PC industry is currently in the iPhone era,” he said.
The executive explained that AMD’s client business unit focuses on three areas: consumer PCs, business PCs and AI PCs. “Everyone will use AI computers, whether consumer or business, because eventually the experience will be so compelling that they can’t live without it.”
Tikoo noted that as chipmakers and big tech companies compete for market share in the age of artificial intelligence, “I’m not worried about competition. I welcome competition… We’ve done it successfully for 40 years, and we want to continue to do that and grow.” .
