Amber Portwood’s daughter Leah starts treatment to resolve “abandonment”

“I just think I have a lot of problems because I have amber in my experience,” Leah, 16, told his dad. Gary Shirley On Thursday, February 20, Teenage Mom: Next Chapter. “I want to overcome this so that I can forgive her and keep moving forward and I think it would be helpful to have someone instruct me on how to forgive someone because it’s hard for me to do that.”
Leah chooses to spend most of her childhood with Gary and his wife Kristina Shirley.
Although Amber, 34, has admitted that her daughter is out of reach, she says she wants to build a stronger relationship.
“With my daughter, she doesn’t want to be with me,” Amber said in an episode on February 6. Teenage Mom: Next Chapter. “I’ve never been a mom who doesn’t care. Just AF-mom.”
Amber has been open to her mental health struggle in recent years, after revealing that she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder.

In a rare remorseful interview, Leah caught a glimpse of her current relationship with her mom.
While the high school student isn’t sure when she realized her mom was “not there”, Lea claimed “there was no abandonment problem with her.”
“I do know that there are a lot of things going on, which makes it hard for her to be with me,” Lea said. “I feel it will affect me every day because I’m always afraid that Christina will leave me. I’m always afraid that people will make no sense for no reason Leave me.”
When Leah began talking to the professionals, Gary expressed her full support and assured her daughter that she could keep all treatment classes privately.
“I just want you to have someone to talk to and that’s a safe space,” he said. “I hope you are happy. I love you.”
One of the ribs that supports Leah’s therapy journey is Tyler Baltierra. While discussing this idea with Gary 16 years old, pregnant Alumni said the young profession helped him to live.
Taylor’s support encourages Gary to inspire conversations with her daughter.
“She’s a good kid with a good head on her shoulders,” Gary said. “She’s been through a lot.”
