In a recent episode, Amber admits that her relationship with Leah is not as close as she hoped. Meanwhile, she admits that her mental health struggles, including the diagnosis of bipolar disorder, prevent her from being the best mom.

“With my daughter, she doesn’t want to be with me,” Amber said in an episode on February 6. Teenage Mom: Next Chapter. “I’ve never been a mom who doesn’t care. Just AF-mom.”

A source told US Weekly Amber will not be on board. An insider shared in July 2024: “Let Kristina adopt Leah never happen on Amber’s watch. She wants to be Leah’s life. She doesn’t want to hand over the responsibility of her parents to someone else.”

Leah described the rare situation of hanging out with mom in a candid speech with Cheyenne, 32.

“When I saw her, she behaved like everything was fine, and I haven’t seen you for months. Why are you talking to me like this?” Leah asked. “Obviously, she has a lot of things going on, a lot of difficulties, but I don’t think I can handle it. I wish I could, but I can’t.”

Lea admits to meeting and sitting down with Amber one day, but she doesn’t know when it’s a good time.

After listening to Leah’s experience, Cheyenne called the whole situation “unfortunate and sad”.

“No one can make me stand out [my daughter] Ryder,” she said in a confession interview. “It’s really hard to understand. I was in their house every day, trying to fight for my relationship with my kids. ”

After talking to Cheyenne, Leah reiterated her hope that she could one day be adopted by Kristina. Although her father agreed to talk to the attorney for information about the steps he needed to take, he warned his eldest daughter could cause heartache.

“As a father, I want you to make sure you know that this is 100% what you want,” Gary said. “Once that happens, it will be a big heartbroken for her, and I know you’re not going to do it, but it’s just part of the process.”

Leah added: “Yes, but she didn’t raise me.”
