Commander hires John Madden’s grandson

The Madden family returned to the National Football League.

Washington Commanders announced Tuesday that they have placed John Madden’s grandson Jesse as coaching staff as offensive quality control coach.

Jesse, recently a member of the Michigan Football Program, graduated last year after winning the national championship in 2024.

He was the quarterback for the Wolverines in the 2021 freshman season and then turned to the defensive back.

Professional Football Hall of Fame Madden won the Oakland Raiders record 103-32-7 in 10 NFL seasons and led them to win the Super Bowl in the 1976 season Victory, then his long run as an NFL broadcaster.

The 2024 season was a huge success for the Commander, who went from 4-13 to 12-5 with an NFC Championship appearance in the offensive rookie of the year Jayden Daniels.

Madden’s name is attached to major video games in the 1990s NFL.

The commander also hired Brian Schneider as the team’s assistant special team coordinator. His 18th season as a coach in the NFL. He is the special team coordinator in San Francisco in 2022 and 2023.

Schneider was a special team coordinator in Seattle from 2010 to 2020, and his unit ranked first in the NFL (26) and second in the period (24).
