Adani Green CEO of India to resign from new position at the group
(Reuters) – Renewable energy company Adani Green Energy said on Monday Chief Executive Amit Singh would resign to become head of Adani Group’s international energy business.
Effective April 1, he will be replaced by Ashish Khanna, the current CEO of the group’s international energy business.
Amit Singh, who was previously a director of oilfield services company SLB, was appointed chief executive of Adani Green in May 2023.
A month ago, U.S. authorities charged group founder Gautam Adani and some Adani Green executives with involvement in a $265 million bribery scheme to win power supply contracts in India. Adani Group called the accusations “baseless”.
However, the indictment had a major knock-on effect, with French oil giant Total Energies suspending investment in the group, Adani Green shelving a $600 million bond issuance, and credit rating agencies citing risks to the group’s financing.
