The 100 -year -old Provence Church consumes in devastating fires
Derek Silva, director of Provence -Provenus Fire Department, said a fire destroyed a century -old church in the Elmwood community.
The Proveden Firefighters responded to the Elmwood Avenue and Greenwich Street at about 11 am on Wednesday.
Silva said that there were some workers where they participated in the recovery of the church and helped them withdraw from the burning church.
He added that no civilian or firefighters were injured.
Silva said that firefighters had no reason to believe that the fire was burned or intentionally set up. He emphasized that the reason for the fire was the focus of the investigation.

The church built began in the last century
Silva said that fire fighting could not save the church structure, which was built in 1914 or 1915.
Silva said the outer brick wall of the building may survive.
He said: “This is all the loss.”
