The power of poor execution
Execution ability We’re introduced to Roman Hurst (Bren Foster), a freelance mercenary who carries a gun for protection even though we’re led to believe his hands are lethal weapons in their own right. In a botched prison assassination attempt, Roman, guided by a jailed gang leader named Iceman (Ving Rhames), assassinates the wrong target, John Alexander (Steven Seagal) ) had no choice but to force Roman to retire early. In John’s view, Roman has been a loyal employee for 15 years, but still needs to pay the price for his serious misjudgment, which has damaged the reputation of all parties.
After Iceman is released from prison, he immediately clashes with John, and a gang war for control of the criminal underworld in Albuquerque, New Mexico enters a fever pitch. John makes a peace offer to Roman with enough money to disappear and start a new life, while subtly hinting that he could use his help to ease the growing and ongoing tension between him and Iceman. Roman found himself conflicted because he wanted to continue working with John, but his hand was broken beyond repair.
Danny Trejo elevates the premise
Roman has a few brief encounters with a deli owner named Oso, played by Danny Trejo, which just makes you wonder how many minutes into the runtime it will take place. Execution ability Before Danny Trejo did what he does best: die on screen. I won’t spoil it, but Orso does have a highly quoted scene where he attacks Roman with a poisonous scorpion and hammer in an attempt to repair his hands.
No clear-cut good or bad guys
Despite Steven Seagal’s best efforts at portraying a villain Execution abilityhe still can’t help but deliver his signature monologue about pride, his super-secret past, vaguely explaining how he amassed skills and wealth, and his personal moral code to justify his actions, no matter how ruthless. And morally they can be questionable.
Streaming Media Execution
This direct-to-video action film is a far cry from Steven Seagal’s ’90s blockbuster heyday, but it’s not without its charm. At least it’s refreshing to watch Execution ability Because Seagal was trying to switch gears later in his career, playing a character who wasn’t the frontline action hero with a heart of gold that we were all familiar with. Execution ability A shaky affair at best, but one that effectively captures Seagal’s willingness to try new things, even as he’s subconsciously trying to relive his glory days in every scene.
