A Florida man was arrested for the 35th time on Christmas Eve after he stole a car and tried to evade authorities.

Kevin Campana, 31, was charged with breaking into a local auto repair shop in Edgewater, Florida and stealing a customer’s car without wearing shoes, according to the Edgewater Police Department. And was detained on Monday.

Campana tried to flee police, but the high-speed chase was captured on body camera videoand finally collided head-on with a police car.

He was charged with burglary, theft, driving on a suspended license and intentionally fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, according to police records.

Campana has been arrested 34 times previously, according to Volusia County inmate records.

Records show Campana was arrested just days earlier on Dec. 18 on suspicion of attempted burglary and is currently out on bail.

He was first arrested on burglary charges on September 18, 2011, when he was only 18 years old.

The 31-year-old career criminal has been detained almost every year for a series of offenses since his first arrest.

Several of the charges against him over the years include burglary, forgery, theft and possession.

The longest time he spent in jail for violating probation was more than nine months, from December 31, 2019 to October 7, 2020, which is a felony.

Campana remains jailed in Volusia County.
