U.S. airstrike in Syria kills 2 “Islamic State” members

The U.S. military launched an airstrike in Syria on Monday, killing two Islamic State operatives and destroying a truckload of weapons, according to U.S. Central Command.

U.S. Central Command said a precision airstrike in Deir ez-Zor province, formerly controlled by the Syrian regime and Russia, killed two Islamic State operatives and wounded another.

“This airstrike is part of Central Command’s ongoing commitment with partners in the region to disrupt and degrade terrorists who plan, organize, and conduct attacks against civilian and military personnel in the United States, our allies, and our partners throughout the region. efforts and others,” Central Command said in a statement.
