Brittany Murphy and Britney Spears’ infamous Hollywood home is for sale

This Hollywood Hills home is listed for $17,995,000, according to Zillow. It was also here that Murphy was found collapsed on December 20, 2009.
At the time, it was discovered that Murphy had died from pneumonia, anemia, and a combination of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, was found dead at the same property five months after his wife’s death. He is 40 years old. The Los Angeles coroner declared Monjack’s cause of death similar to Murphy’s.
On the home’s real estate listing, it’s described as “an architectural gem nestled within a coveted celebrity residential enclave.” The listing also explains that the home “has undergone a complete transformation and is a testament to luxurious living and meticulous craftsmanship.”
The home was built in 1997 and has 9,400 square feet, 6 beds and 9 bathrooms. When the Murphys purchased the house, they weren’t the first celebrities to live in it.
The couple purchased the home from pop star and music icon Spears in 2003 for $3.85 million.
The “Toxic” singer claims to have had paranormal experiences at the home while she lived there.
During a 2021 episode of the “We Need to Talk About Britney” podcast, her former makeup artist Julianne Kaye described her experience with the singer.
“[Spears] There’s that place on Sunset Plaza – I just want to say, it’s really weird… She called me… and I had my friend do Reiki on her,” Kay said at the time. “He was already up; I guess she had been partying hard over the weekend and needed to relax. He left and she swears to God, he opened some soul door or something and these evil spirits came in… They Try to push her down the stairs or do something crazy.
After that experience, Spears never returned home and stayed at the Casa Del Mar hotel, Kay said.
“She said, ‘I know you’re going to think I’m crazy. I’m not crazy. I know what I saw. I know how I felt,” Kay added.
Murphy was also reportedly upset about the property. In a 2010 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Monjack detailed the actress’ discomfort with her family.
“She absolutely hated the Rising Glen house,” Monjack told the outlet. “Every time we’d drive into the sunset, Britt would say, ‘Please, can we stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel?’ and I’d say, ‘Honey, you have to be realistic. We have our own house, one Thousands of square feet of home. We will stay in it.
