TAL Education Group: Strong growth, unreasonable valuation premium (NYSE: TAL)

I am a co-founder and portfolio manager of a multi-family office focused on the US and Asian markets. I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting and finance from one of the top programs in the United States, and I am a CFA charterholder. Before starting my own business, I worked as an analyst for a multi-billion dollar value fund in the US for many years. During this period, I invested in US and Asian stocks with no market capitalization limit. The industries I am most familiar with are consumer, technology, healthcare, semiconductor, banking, and industrials. I have business and investment contacts all over the world. My network helps me understand global business better than the average person. In my research, I strive to collect complete and accurate information. My sources include public documents, industry journals, industry conferences and expos, company visits, analyst calls, management meetings, and gossip research. As a value investor, my investing style is directly influenced by Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, and Charlie Munger. I have a very flexible approach to investing. My investing universe includes growth, GARP, deep value, rotational, cyclical and special situations. I also look for values globally. I wrote Seeking Alpha because I wanted to seek intelligent discussion and verifiable disconfirming evidence for my thesis.
