Convicted Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira pleads for obstruction of justice

Jack Teixeira, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, was convicted for leaking highly classified documents about the Ukrainian war, using his military court on Thursday to describe himself as a “proud patriot” in an attempt to expose what the Biden administration calls “lie.”

After pleading guilty to military charges that obstruct justice, the 23-year-old admitted that he knew his actions were illegal, but he believed he needed to share the truth about how the Biden administration seemed to mislead the American public in his opinion.

“If I even saved the lives of an American, Russian or Ukrainian to resist this meaningless money-making war, then my punishment is worth it,” he said.

Teixeira is parallel to President Donald Trump, accusing him of being a victim of the Department of Weapons Justice. He called on the Trump administration to “review my double prosecution and punishment with an eye to reverse deep actions and show the truth, no matter how embarrassing it to the Biden administration.”

Exposed to leaks from the world’s secret assessments of the Russian war, including information about the movement of Ukrainian troops, as well as supplies and equipment provided to Ukrainian troops. Teixeira also admitted to publishing information about U.S. rivals’ plans to damage U.S. military service overseas.

Security violations have forced the Biden administration to scramble to curb diplomatic and military consequences. The leak also embarrassed the Pentagon, which stepped up controls to protect classified information and found that there were intentional measures needed to take the suspicious behavior of Teixeira.
