Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte

Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested Tuesday at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport under an order from the International Criminal Court (ICC) that is investigating crimes against human cases filed against former leaders.

Duterte, 79, was detained at a Philippine airport after traveling to Hong Kong, according to the Associated Press.

The Associated Press said through the office of President Ferdinand Marcos that the International Criminal Court has been investigating the mass killing of “the fatal repression of illegal drugs by the former president.”
