On October 6, Battle Night and the disappearance of Suzanne, the Simpsons and their 5-year-old daughter attended a party at Argyle Club, the exclusive Ritzy club at Alamo Heights. Bystanders witnessed the couple’s “verbal dispute” within the party, according to the arrest affidavit.
According to surveillance footage obtained by police, Suzanne Simpson and his daughter left the party and went to the HEB grocery store in San Antonio from 8:40 pm to 8:51 pm. Documents show they arrived home shortly afterwards.
Later that night, Suzanne called a family friend and said she was stopping. She also called her mother, telling her that Brad had assaulted her, beating her arms, back and neck, according to court records. She arrived at her family and friends’ house around 9:25 p.m., whose neighbors reported seeing Brad and Susanna quarreled loudly and “physically struggling” in front of his house.

Neighbors observed Suzanne “trying to get rid of Mr. Simpson’s mastery as he tried to pull her down.” According to the documents, neighbours also observed Brad chasing his wife and trying to catch her. The neighbor later heard the screaming of the wooded area opposite his home.
About an hour after witnessing Susanna and Brad Simpson fighting at home, the same neighbor saw Brad’s truck leave the area and then return about an hour later.

The next morning, October 7, surveillance video from the San Antonio Heb grocery store captured Brad and his truck with a large refrigerator.
Later that morning, he bought food on a direct train in Kendall County, Texas, and the camera lens captured three white garbage bags, a heavy garbage can, a heavy garbage can, a refrigerator, and a “large bulky item wrapped in a blue tarp” secured in a blue tarp by a firewood shelf behind the Brad truck.
Until shortly after the express train, Brad allegedly bought two bags of cement, a construction bucket, a box of heavy garbage bags, Clocross disinfectant spray and insect repellent in a nearby home warehouse, police officers in receipts from cell phone data, surveillance cameras and home depots learned.

Before purchasing, Brad asked an unknown male in the parking lot about his route to the nearest dump in Boerne. His cell phone was obviously turned off at that time.
At the gas station that morning, surveillance video captured Brad’s truck, which lacked white garbage bags, but blue tarpaulins, firewood racks and garbage were still available.

After picking up his daughter at school in the afternoon, Brad was found “washing and cleaning the front (SIC) side (SIC) side and rear left rear passenger side” on another surveillance camera, his truck was washing the car in the car wash room in San Antonio.
Suzanne’s friend reported that she was missing on the evening of October 7. When police contacted Brad about his wife’s disappearance, he allegedly told them that he had not seen her since about 11 p.m. on October 6

On October 8, Brad exchanged text messages with his long-time friend and business partner James “Val” Cotter, who was also charged.
“If you’re in Bandera, can you drag A-to see me at your house?” Simpson allegedly sent a text message to Cote. “I don’t have much time.”

In his later text to Brad, Cotter wrote: “Come here! I won’t tell anyone” and “You are my brother.”
Cotter is accused of tampering with evidence in order to undermine the investigation and possession of the banned weapon in Suzanne’s disappearance. He released Bond in November 2024.

Authorities arrested Brad on October 9, 2024 and arrested Kurt on October 21, 2024.
On October 9, the Texas Rangers executed a search warrant on the Brad property in Bandera County, where they found a ground burning site with burned laptops and multiple cellular devices. They also searched his truck and identified stains that tested “positive for blood” that were tested and determined as Brad’s blood.

Last December, Bexar County Crime District Attorney Joe Gonzales announced in a press release that Brad “hidden” the “reciprocating saw” two days after Suzanne’s disappearance, and authorities told family members that Suzanne’s DNA had been confirmed on the saw.

Brad remains in the prison in Bexar County, with bonds totaling $3 million and charged by federal government possession of weapons by alcohol, tobacco, guns and explosives. His attorney could not be contacted for comment.
