9 states report measles cases as outbreaks grow
(Nexstar) – One of the most contagious viruses in the world is spreading in the United States. So far, three different measles outbreaks have occurred in 2025, with at least 164 reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from nine states. The biggest outbreak was in West Texas, with the number of people diagnosed with measles on Friday rising to 146. An unvaccinated child in the area died last week. This is the first measles death in the United States since 2015.
