Pete Rose Hof Qualification: Major League Baseball Commissioner is reportedly considering major actions
Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred is reportedly considering removing Pete Rose from the league’s banned roster, the hit rate leader in the game’s history, who died a few months later at the age of 83.
ESPN reported Saturday that Ross’ family filed a petition to Major League Baseball on January 8 to remove it from the list. Jeffrey Lenkov, the attorney for baseball legend, told the media that the petition was filed after Rose’s daughter met with Manfred and league spokesman Pat Courtney on December 17.

After the two met, Manfred previously rejected Ross’s bid in December 2015. Lenkov described the meeting with MLB Brass as “productive” and said Manfred was “respectful” and kind to the case.
“It’s time to put Pete Rose on the page in Baseball’s Heritage and Hall of Fame to commemorate his legacy,” Lenkov told ESPN. “We don’t log out of people. ”
President Donald Trump wrote in a social media post Friday that he plans to pardon Rose.

Ross broke out with his hometown of Cincinnati Reds, who played on 19 teams in 24 seasons, three of whom he also served as acting manager in 1963, and he went on to make league history while winning three World Series titles.
Rose was the 1973 league MVP on Diamonds, and was nicknamed “Charlie Hustle” when he was a 17th All-Star, three-time batting champion, Rookie of the Year and World Series MVP.
Despite his 4,256 careers, he became a polarized figure when news of his gambling in baseball shocked the sports world.

Ross applied for a restoration in 2020 and 2022, especially legal sports betting across the country. However, Manfred denied both requests, pointing to any Hall of Fame discussions by the Veterans Commission on Ross. Manfred also beat any speculation about Rose’s return to the scene in 2023 as the league formed a partnership with Sportsbook.

Although he was not in the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Reds were promoted to their own Hall of Fame in 2016 and retired to No. 14. He made appearances at the MLB Stadium in recent years just before his death.
