Bicka Barlow, formerly a witness to the defense, joined Koberg’s legal team

Idaho student murder suspects Bryan Kohberger has added one of his own defense expert witnesses to the legal team as he faces a family that may be with four Idaho students in 2022 The death penalty related to the assault case.

She began her career as a research lawyer in the Criminal Division of the San Francisco Superior Court and eventually established a private practice dedicated to cases involving DNA.

She claims to lead the first successful challenge in the U.S. court, namely the short tandem repeat (STR) DNA evidence, one of the most common methods of DNA analysis.

She also has experience with mitochondrial DNA and Y-STR, which are specific tests against the Y chromosome.
