Illinois governor says ‘violent’ illegal immigrants should be deported, willing to meet with Trump officials

Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker says he agrees with border czar appointee Tom Homan as part of a historic mass deportation campaign. The incoming Trump administration.
Pritzker was responding to comments Homan made at a Northwest Side Republican rally on Monday night, Fox 32 Chicago reportedhe threatened to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. The move will affect tens of thousands of undocumented immigrants in Chicago and Illinois.
“Violent criminals who are undocumented and convicted of violent crimes should be deported,” Pritzker said at an unrelated news conference, local television reported. “I don’t want them in my state, I don’t want them in my state. I don’t think they should be in the United States.”
Homan said while public safety threats will be a priority, no one can be left out when it comes to evictions. He directly mentioned Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson in his speech.

“If the mayor of Chicago doesn’t want to help, he can step down,” Homan said. “But if he gets in our way, if he knowingly harbors illegal aliens, I will prosecute him.”
According to Fox 32, Pritzker said he would welcome a meeting with Homan or the incoming Trump administration, but he has not been contacted.

Illinois Republicans not only urged Pritzker to work with Homan, but also said the state should repeal sanctuary laws that often limit law enforcement’s cooperation with ICE.

Other countries include China (37,908 nationals listed in final deportation orders), Haiti (32,363), Iran (2,618), Pakistan (7,76), Uzbekistan (975) and Venezuela (22,749).
