Boston Councillor vs. Tom Homan

A member of the Boston City Council called on border tsar Czar Tom Homan in a social media article, calling for the implementation of President Donald Trump’s border policy “ridiculous”.
Councilwoman Sharon Durkan said he would “give hell to Binton after Boston Police Chief Michael Cox” Doubled the shelter policy in the city.
“You said you don’t help law enforcement officers who didn’t help ice. I’m coming to Boston and I brought my hell,” Homan said at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday. “I watched this morning Numbers…I stopped nine. Nine child rapists who were jailed in Massachusetts prisons, but instead of respecting the detention ice, you put them back on the street.”
“You’re not a police commissioner,” Homan continued. “Take the badge off your chest. Put it in the desk drawer. Because you become a politician. You forget what it feels like to be a policeman.”

Durkan’s response was to mock Homan for being a police officer in the 1980s in New York’s village of West Carthage. He soon became a Border Patrol agent and has since worked for the Obama administration and the first Trump administration in the U.S. immigration and customs enforcement (ICE).
“It’s frightening to see people who have spent a career, towns with smaller crowds than Fenway Park think they can speak on public safety in Boston,” Durkan’s post reads.
“Commissioner Michael Cox served with outstanding attitude and earned trust with integrity,” the official continued. “Tom Homan should know that we are not easily scared.”

Cox said in a recent interview that Boston “does not enforce ice detainers” under Massachusetts law.
“We just don’t do that,” Cox said on WCVB’s “On Records” program. “We don’t enforce civil detainees on federal immigration laws. The law is defined in the state, and that’s how it works.”
The Boston office of the Boston ICE’s Law Enforcement and Evacuation Operation (ERO) has overseen the arrests of several criminal immigrants in recent weeks, including members of the MS-13 gang.
Earlier this month, Ero Boston officials arrested an illegal alien in Guatemala who was charged with multiple counts of rape.
