For many years, debates have been taking place among cruisers. To be clear, I don’t want to be on either side of it.
Like most other cruise lines, Carnival charges guests a standard tip rate. Currently, the price per person is $16 per day, the standard cabin costs $18 per person, and the suite guests are $18 per day. Guests can choose to pay prepay according to their preference, or post it to the Sail and Sign (On-Car Expense) account at the end of the cruise.

It is worth noting, however, that these remunerations are given to cabin attendants and restaurant servers, an important part of the crew who work behind the scenes.
In a recent post, Carnival brand ambassador John Heald shared a photo of the cabin where guests left a “Thanks Ketut (Thex The Tonge Ketut) (The Tonge Ketut ( The Adpateroom Asvants’ name)”, about $45 bill, priced at $45.
Under the photo, Heald wrote: “It’s a lovely thing because many of you agree. Some don’t think so. Thank you for everything you did for the crew anyway. But you hand it over to them . They are really grateful. Ideas? ”

Carnival passengers share their tipping habits
Within a few hours, Heald’s post received more than 500 comments. Many people appreciate those who leave tips in photos, while others prefer to use easier ways to cut cabin attendants.
“I think it’s great! It would have made him a day,” commented Jane Smyrnis. Others are not fans, including Brian Marshall Gomez, who said: “I like to put it in an envelope with thank you letters, which seems more classic than having to have our butlers raise them everywhere Money.” It is worth pointing out that Gomez is not the only one who points out that it creates more work for room attendants rather than simply handing them over.
“We put $$ into a thank you card with message. But everything that works for people is OK,” said Heald follower Bobbie McDowell. Similarly, Lisa Dethrow said, “I’d rather have it with Give it to them a sincere way, thank you for treating us so well, and we thank you for everything you did to make our accommodation possible.”
Others donate more than just donating money. One of Donna Earl Lay’s unique tipping habits comes from Donna Earl Lay, who said: “We had a crew member telling us that he really enjoyed receiving t-shirts from our state. So we’ve started (with the addition of tips when booking) to get there and end up giving them a gift bag with $$ and a t-shirt.”
There is no perfect way to tip
The key point is that the cruiser shows appreciation for the crew in many ways, and there is no perfect approach. For many, their tips vary from cruising to cruising. For example, when I sail alone,
I’m going to spend a quarter of the remuneration, the remuneration I’m paying when sailing with a family of four, even though the cabin attendant is doing nearly the same job to clean the room. So for this reason I tend to be more in the solo situation.

Most importantly, it’s best to thank the crew the way you feel the best, which reflects how you like the cruise. This may simply mean that the cruise ship’s remuneration is in advance, taking the money directly into the hands of the crew who deserve it, or a certain tipping method.
