Protesters gathered outside Tesla showrooms across the United States on Saturday to oppose sharp cuts by President Donald Trump’s billionaire adviser Elon Musk, which imposed a federal government.
Organizers cite 37 protests nationwide as part of an effort coordinated through social media hashtags #Teslatakedown and #Teslatakover.
Musk’s auto companies are becoming the target of political outrage in the United States and Europe to deal with the huge influence of billionaires in the White House.
Musk planned the firing of thousands of civil servants through the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and received sensitive U.S. Treasury payments. He also expressed support for the German far-right and called for the abandonment of Sir Kyle Starmer’s left-wing government in Britain.

“Everything was a little off track,” she said. “So I decided I had to show up. I had to be in cahoots with my soul.”
Chris White said he played on Saturday because he was worried that “we are living through a fascist coup.”
“My kids are trans,” he said. “I was told they don’t exist. I don’t know if their health care exists.”
Even though one person shouted from the truck “Elon is my hero!” Most passersby in most democratic cities expressed support.
“I would rather buy a Rivian,” one person refers to the electric motor manufacturer, whose showroom is one block from the protests.
